Arkansas Continued Care Hospital of Jonesboro |
From 15 January to about 28 March 2021 I was confined to the Arkansas Continued Care Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. During this time the physician responsible for my care was guilty of egregious malpractice which resulted in my permanent disability. In the course of this treatment I was given (without my knowledge or consent or that of my caregivers) a number of dangerous and injurious drugs which the doctor was not qualified to diagnose an indication for or prescribe. ACCH is a small hospital and the senior staff are well known to one another. The pharmacy director knew or should have known this and taken some action to stop it or at least report it. If the pharmacy director has indeed reported this misconduct I withdraw the complaint. In any case some investigation of that facility would seem to be warranted. The massive amounts of drugs used in unnecessary treatment which actually degraded my health to the point that I was near death when I was removed (against the wishes of the doctor) suggests that money may have been a motivation for my treatment. I am aware of another very young patient at this facility who died as a result of the incompetent treatment he received. His situation was described to me by his next of kin as being similar to mine, suggesting he may have been subjected to the same misapplication of drugs. I am alive to tell the tale only because my family members took me out of the hospital over the strenuous objections of the doctor. Had I been left in there much longer I would be if not dead beyond possibility of recovery. This is a matter of life and death for people committed to that facility.
